Welcome to Windermere Ceremonies

We are unique in that as well as being a qualified Civil Celebrant my wife Lynn and I own and operate a beautiful old Lakeland house in the centre of Windermere village in Cumbria England.

Wheatlands Lodge is perfect for a range of ceremonies conducted in the grand ceremonies room or beautiful gardens. We have 9 individual luxury guests' bedrooms.

We offer our services as a celebrant officiating ceremonies in any location as well as choosing Wheatlands Lodge as your venue. We let your imagination be our guide, creating the occasion you have been dreaming of. 

My Name is Mike and I'm a fully qualified Civil Celebrant NOCN Level 3 Diploma in Celebrancy. I have trained as a celebrant with Civil Ceremonies LTD the leading institution for wedding and funeral celebrancy training in the UK.

We are unique in that as well as being a qualified Civil Celebrant my wife Lynn and I own and operate a beautiful old Lakeland house in the centre of Windermere village in Cumbria England.

We fell in love with Wheatlands Lodge and bought this 170-year-old historic Lakeland house as an ongoing concern in December 2019 and spent time and resources renovating the entire house and gardens creating what it is today.

We wanted to offer luxury accommodation and realise our dream of owning and running a wedding and ceremonies venue offering small and intimate ceremonies in the Lakes.

We specialise in writing and presenting bespoke ceremonies which are personal, unique, and memorable.

Whether it be for a wedding, civil partnership, vow renewal or Commitment ceremonies, or any other significant occasion in life; whether your preferences are for the more traditional or the contemporary; Religious or secular, We will work with you to create the ceremony you desire and ensure it is all you wish it to be.

We offer our services as a celebrant officiating ceremonies in any location as well as choosing Wheatlands Lodge as your venue.

We let your imagination be our guide, creating the occasion you have been dreaming of. The Lakes is one of the most picturesque locations in the world and your wedding photography will capture you against this stunning back drop. Your ceremony could be held on a luxury yacht on Lake Windermere or on top of the mountains and fells. Anything is possible!

We are passionate about what we do and complement each other in helping couples realise their own dreams of that special day.

My role as a celebrant also covers celebration of life ceremonies. These are alternatives to a funeral service and focus on the person's life, celebrating your loved one's life in an uplifting, bespoke and intimate personal service.
