Enjoy a day out at Dodd Wood on the eastern side of Bassenthwaite close to the entrance for Mirehouse. Take a hike through the wood to Ullock Pike and onward, if you like, to the summit of Skiddaw or take the path to Dodd and marvel at the far-reaching views. View the ospreys from the viewing platform or just meander down the many trails and finish up back at the tearoom.
