Newly opened following an exciting refurb, take in the views with a glass of frothy real local ale or settle back with a cuppa and watch the world go by.
Open all day, all year round, tuck into cracking pub fare, family favourites plus a fully loaded kids’ menu from breakfast until evening - with everything in between – you’ll find something for everyone at this friendly new inn.
Walkers are welcome as are families and dogs. You’re as welcome to flop down on a comfy chair after a day on the fells with a pint, as you are sipping a pre-dinner cocktail or getting stuck in to hearty helpings of mouth-watering dishes.
Peckish pooch? We’ve raised the bar-k when it comes to doggy diners with bar snacks and food available for hungry hounds.

National Express bus services stop at Ambleside and Stagecoach run frequent services to Ambleside.
Stagecoach also has combined bus and boat tickets which are available for Coniston, Derwent Water, Ullswater and Windermere. Buy your ticket from the bus driver across Carlisle, Lancaster and West Cumbria. Tickets include travel into the Lakes on connecting buses.
The nearest railway station is in Windermere which is less than 2 miles from The Angel Inn, Bowness.
