About
The Bistro at the Distillery aims to embrace the spirit of the Lake District, which is achieved by using regional ingredients where possible and having a key focus on freshness, flavour and simplicity. The Bistro also caters for all pockets, providing handmade cakes from qualified patisserie chefs and gin afternoon teas.
The Bistro has a tremendous reputation thanks to menus created under the guidance of renowned Michelin star chef Terry Laybourne. In the warmer months, guests can dine alfresco, taking in the stunning surroundings of the Cumbrian landscape whilst enjoying a mouth-watering selection from our various menus.
The Bistro has been consistently awarded OpenTable’s Best Restaurant in Cumbria since 2015 as well as featuring in the Michelin Good Food Guides 2016 and 2017. Having maintained an average TripAdvisor score of 4.5, it was rewarded with a 2021 Travellers’ Choice award.
