The Low Carbon Lake District initiative is a programme to help help us minimise the impacts of climate change in the National Park. We know that our visitors cherish this area and so as part of the programme, we have developed a number of trails, which help you to lower your carbon footprint whilst visiting and introduce you to some of the wonderful places to visit around the county.

Exploring the region car-free has never been simpler. The Cumbria Travel Pass gives you unlimited, seamless travel across Northern, TransPennine Express, and Avanti trains, Stagecoach buses, and Windermere Lake Cruises.

The pass also includes discounts on heritage railways and further lake cruises (including Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway, Coniston Launch and Ullswater Steamers).
