About

Join us at Windermere Hire Boats and create unforgettable memories on England’s most beautiful lake. Whether you're a local resident or a visiting tourist, we are excited to welcome you aboard for a fantastic boating experience.

Nestled in the heart of the stunning Lake District, Windermere is the largest natural lake in England and offers a perfect setting for an unforgettable boating experience.

At Windermere Hire Boats, with prices starting from £20 per hour - we can accommodate from 2 up to 10 passengers and specialise in providing you with the perfect eco-friendly cruise on our state-of-the-art electric boats. Silent and smooth, these boats are perfect for those who want to take in the beauty of Lake Windermere without disturbing the tranquillity of the natural surroundings; whether you're seeking a peaceful day of relaxation or an adventurous outing with family and friends, we have the right boat for you.

Types of boat available to hire:

Pioner – suitable for up to 5 people

Ideally suited to those looking to fish on Windermere, these totally open Pioner boats allow a rod to be passed around the boat without snagging. They’re also popular with small parties as the open-air ambiance can make you feel closer to the lake.

The Pioner is powered by a small petrol outboard motor that’s steered and controlled from a central console.

Mystic – suitable for up to 6 people

Hop aboard and enjoy a fun day out on the lake with your family and friends.

A great option for families and groups of friends, these quiet electric boats offer a front cabin, and have the option to have the roof and rear covers down in the sunshine or whipped back up if the clouds roll in.

Steering is intuitive and easy to drive, like a car, with a simple joystick for forward and reverse.

Fantail – suitable for up to 10 people

Looking for something luxurious? Fantail boats are specially imported to give you the ultimate lake experience.

Their classic gentleman’s launch styling mixed with an FM radio and Bluetooth enabled stereo speakers makes for a memorable lake adventure for up to 10 people.

The spacious seating area benefits from a central table with cup holders and the clear sides can be removed by our staff if the weather allows, enabling you to soak up the amazing 360-degree views of the lake.

Like the Mystic, the Fantail has an eco-friendly electric motor with very easy to operate controls. So, sit back, relax and see Windermere from the best private vantage point.

Pink Fantail - suitable for up to 10 people

We've commissioned our exclusive Pink Fantail boat in support of Breast Cancer awareness and funding.

This imported, custom-finished Fantail boat is finished in Pink and is fitted with a hard top which carries the Breast Cancer Awareness pink ribbon. This pink beauty is designed for fun and you can specially reserve this exclusive boat for hire on Lake Windermere.

Simply support Cancer Research by donating when you hire the boat – and better still, we will match your donation. We intend to raise a substantial sum over time and raise awareness for Cancer Research.
