For 40 years the world’s finest classical musicians have performed in the stunning surroundings of the Lake District. Every summer they head to Cumbria for a festival like no other in this UNESCO World Heritage Site.
From string quartets to jazz and baroque specialists to world music, there’s an incredible selection to choose from. But it’s not just about listening to today’s leading musicians, this is the place to get a first glimpse of the next big thing.
The 2025 festival will our 40th anniversary – a celebratory summer to remember - opening with a performance by the majorly celebrated local hero and BBC Young Musician Finalist – Jess Gillam!
Other performers include the legendary pianist Paul Lewis, baroque super-group Red Priest, Barbican String Quartet, Mikeleiz-zucchi Duo, Northern Chamber Orchestra as well as emerging resident classical stars making their festival debuts.
The festival will also include walks in the wondrous Lake District countryside, workshops, family music activities and much more.
Locations include Ambleside, Barrow, Coniston, Grange-over-Sands, Grasmere, Hawkshead, Kendal, Ulverston and Windermere.
