About

Totally unique to Lakeland Ascents and not found anywhere else in the Lakes, or the UK for that matter, the Lakeland Legend Challenge is a full-on day of 3 extreme adventure activities, all set around an atmospheric slate quarry close to Coniston.

Will you be one of the 70% who complete all 3 challenges, or will you fall into the 30% who don't quite make it?!

The challenge starts with a super-high, super-steep, 50m vertical abseil - will you trust the ropes and lean back over the edge?

If you succeed, another vertigo-inducing challenge awaits - a 60m traverse line, hanging 50m above the ground. Think 'zip-line' but with a lot more involvement from you! You're going to have to ignore the exposure and focus hard to get across this one!

2 challenges down, and after a spot of lunch, you're faced with an afternoon of 'graded' rock scrambling up a near-by mountain. Rock scrambling is all about hands and feet on the rock, continually moving up arêtes, chimneys, slabs and boulders as the ground quickly drops away beneath you. Don't worry though, the rope will be there to keep you safe as it gets steeper!

This is a great challenge for those who are fit and have sense of adventure. The minimum age is 16.
