About

Wreay Syke Alpacas is based just 5 minutes from junction 36 of the M6 in a village called Gatebeck, where our herd of currently 23 alpacas live.

Enjoy an unforgettable experience with our gentle natured, inquisitive alpacas. We offer various activities with our alpacas including our Meet & Greet which lasts an hour and A Little of Everything which lasts up to 2 hours and is a taster session of a few different things.

Alpacas appeal to people of all ages and abilities so these activities are suitable for anyone, especially those with health limitations or those too young to join us on one of our alpaca treks which we also offer at weekends over a local nearby landmark called The Helm. We can also adapt our Gatebeck activities if you want to include one as part of a birthday party or wedding celebrations, contact us to see what we can offer.

Our alpacas also travel and make visits in the community, we can come to workplaces, residential care homes, retirement homes, schools, retreats or activity centres, the possibilities are endless and offer the ability for anyone to get up close and personal with our alpacas. Therapy for the heart and mind!

Alpacas are known for their therapeutic effects and can boost morale, encouraging people to be happy and relaxed which in turn improves wellness and wellbeing. Our alpacas can also help you celebrate your special day as alternative wedding guests! Guests love to meet, greet and feed our alpacas spending time with them and enjoying unforgettable photo opportunities and something for a unique wedding album! We have worked with quite a few Cumbria wedding venues who are happy to have our alpacas as guests so get in touch if you would like something a little bit different!

Please note: dogs are not allowed at all s this is an animal based activity.
