Discover the remarkable 172-year-old history of Grasmere Gingerbread® in a deliciously unique experience at The Grasmere Gingerbread Shop.
Savour the past as we guide you through the never-ending story of Grasmere Gingerbread® in our fascinating 'Talk and Taste' experience.
Outside our picturesque shop in the Lakeland village of Grasmere, we bring to life the amazing story of Victorian cook Sarah Nelson – who invented world-famous Grasmere Gingerbread® in 1854 – as well as Cumbria's wider culinary history.
Presented by a staff member in traditional and photo-friendly Victorian costume, our 'Talk and Taste' experience is an ideal half-term activity and will leave you with a deep and abiding memory of the world-famous Grasmere Gingerbread Shop.
As well as enjoying the mouth-watering aroma of sweet ginger hanging in the air, you will receive:
· A slice of freshly baked Grasmere Gingerbread®.
· An oatcake spread with our delicious Handmade Cumberland Rum Butter;
· A cup of artisan coffee or a steaming cup of tea (children under 16 receive a carton of juice).
