Can you imagine waking up with Lake Windermere as the backdrop and nature as the soundtrack?  During July and August, (exact dates to be confirmed) Graythwaite Estate offers a pop-up canvas village made of sturdy pre-pitched 5m bell tents that take the hassle out of pitching up yourself.  This way, you can explore the local area on the western shore of Windermere and try out some of the activities available on site, all without having to travel too far at all.  How idyllic does this sound?  The tents are spaced out among peaceful green fields, they’re dog-friendly, and you’ll be guaranteed to leave the estate relaxed and recharged.  For more information and to book, please visit Graythwaite camping.

The bell tents sleep up to 5, comfortably, and come with fitted carpets and waterproof groundsheets but they are unfurnished, meaning you’ll need to bring your own bedding plus your camping essentials.

Activities on site include paddleboarding, kayaking, canoeing, RIB boat tours, 4x4 off-road driving, archery, axe throwing, bushcraft experiences and clay pigeon shooting.  If and when you venture beyond the estate, you’ll be well placed to visit Hill Top, Michelin-starred restaurants, the cutest cafes, lakeshore trails, some pretty awesome cycling routes, and pretty towns such as Hawkshead and Ambleside.
