About

Nestled in the scenic English Lake District, The Salutation Inn in Threlkeld offers a charming retreat at the heart of this quaint village. Built in 1664, The Salutation Inn (affectionately known as The Sally) is traditional 17th century former coaching inn.

With stunning panoramic views up to Blencathra and towards the Helvellyn Range, it's an ideal base for exploring the natural beauty and cultural heritage of Cumbria. The inn, which was refurbished last year, provides a cozy ambiance with well-appointed rooms, blending rustic charm with modern comfort.

Our modern bathrooms, fully equipped with complimentary soaps and soft, fresh towels make our rooms a relaxing pit stop following a day of adventure. Once you’ve freshened up, head down to the restaurant where you’ll find a menu packed with dishes made from locally sourced ingredients. The bar offers a variety of award-winning ales, wines and a large selection of the UKs best spirits. A traditional Cumbrian breakfast will be served every morning during your stay.

Threlkeld’s streets feature historic buildings and charming shops packed with unique souvenirs. Don't miss the opportunity to visit Threlkeld Village Hall, or Blencathra for hikers. History enthusiasts should visit, Threlkeld Quarry and Mining Museum, offering intriguing insights into the area's past.
