About
Set on the shores of Esthwaite Water is the beautiful village of Near Sawrey, without doubt best known for the legacy of Beatrix Potter. Potter created many of her famous characters in Near Sawrey and her lovingly restored Hill Top home is now a popular visitor attraction. She once called the village 'as near perfect a little place as I ever lived in'. Nearby Far Sawrey lies in rolling farmland and wooded hillsides by lake Windermere and was also inspiration for Potter's tales. The village of Hawkshead, with its whitewashed cottages, cobbled streets and cosy pubs is a short journey away as are scenic walks along the shores of Esthwaite Water.Book Tickets
