Petit Four is a small Anglo-French restaurant in the heart of Hawkshead, offering homemade food with a focus on relaxed, informal dining from morning through to evening.

Owned by Ben Standley and Harriet Armstrong. Petit Four is built around a simple idea; good food, made properly using locally sourced ingredients, served in a warm and welcoming space.

While the café is open for breakfast and lunch, the evenings are where Petit Four shines as something a little different. The menu leans into Anglo-French cooking, with classic techniques and flavours running through a selection of seasonal dishes, alongside carefully chosen wines.

Everything is prepared in-house or locally sourced, from slow-cooked dishes and pastries to lighter options and daily specials. The focus is on honest, comforting food, done well, with just enough refinement to make it feel special without being formal.

Alongside the food, Petit Four serves coffee from Carringtons Coffee and wines sourced from Windermere Wine Store, helping to create a space that works just as well for a morning coffee as it does for a relaxed evening meal.

Located upstairs, the restaurant offers a calm and slightly hidden setting away from the bustle of the village below; a place to take your time, whether you’re visiting Hawkshead or live nearby.
