About

High ceilings, impressive opulent decor and calming views over the ornamental lake and fountain make the Cedar Tree Restaurant at Farlam Hall the perfect place to enjoy a fine dining experience.

Newly renovated and restored, our dining area is light, airy and welcoming, a place to dine in a relaxed atmosphere with friends and loved ones.

Our acclaimed restaurant is led by a fantastic team of chefs, who put together seasonal menus using the very best of local produce. Our attentive team of waiting staff are at your service, making sure you want for nothing. Available to both resident guests and non-resident visitors, our restaurant is the ideal place to indulge your taste buds with the best of fine dining.

Every week, our talented kitchen team put together a new dinner menu of the most superb modern British cuisine. Our team is led by executive chef Steven Pott, a multiple rosette winner who heads up a group of highly experienced and creative chefs, utilising the finest local ingredients to create mouthwatering dishes.

Fresh local produce from trusted suppliers is at the heart of our menus, and may include delicious wild-fed beef from Houghton, game from West Cumbria, day-bought fish from the North East coast, pork from Greystoke, even herbs from our own herb garden – we use the best quality seasonal produce to help bring you the very best of British food.

Our Cedar Tree Restaurant has a growing reputation for excellence, and has already been awarded two AA Rosette Awards for Culinary Excellence, as well as three Red Stars and an Inspector's Choice Award in the 2020 AA guide. Our ambitious team are determined to build on this, with their passion for customer service, and for their craft and for quality fuelling a drive for constant improvement.
