Newly renovated and restored, our dining area is light, airy and welcoming, a place to dine in a relaxed atmosphere with friends and loved ones.
Our acclaimed restaurant is led by a fantastic team of chefs, who put together seasonal menus using the very best of local produce. Our attentive team of waiting staff are at your service, making sure you want for nothing. Available to both resident guests and non-resident visitors, our restaurant is the ideal place to indulge your taste buds with the best of fine dining.
Every week, our talented kitchen team put together a new dinner menu of the most superb modern British cuisine. Our team is led by executive chef Steven Pott, a multiple rosette winner who heads up a group of highly experienced and creative chefs, utilising the finest local ingredients to create mouthwatering dishes.
Fresh local produce from trusted suppliers is at the heart of our menus, and may include delicious wild-fed beef from Houghton, game from West Cumbria, day-bought fish from the North East coast, pork from Greystoke, even herbs from our own herb garden – we use the best quality seasonal produce to help bring you the very best of British food.
Our Cedar Tree Restaurant has a growing reputation for excellence, and has already been awarded two AA Rosette Awards for Culinary Excellence, as well as three Red Stars and an Inspector's Choice Award in the 2020 AA guide. Our ambitious team are determined to build on this, with their passion for customer service, and for their craft and for quality fuelling a drive for constant improvement.

The Cedar Tree Restaurant at Farlam Hall is situated 12.5 miles South East of Carlisle on the A689 Brampton to Alston road. We are not in Farlam village.
The main North/South Motorway, the M6 is only 10 miles to Junction 44 if traveling North or Junction 43 if traveling South. It is a 15 to 20 minutes drive to either junction.
There is an electric car charging point on site and this is complimentary for residents. Please advise at time of booking if you will require access to the charging point during your stay.
Carlisle Station is 12 miles away and served by the Virgin West Coast line from London Euston. Times now are approximately 3.5 to 4.00 hours. Taxis are available outside the station.
Brampton Junction is on the Carlisle to Newcastle line and is only 1.5 miles away but has limited services. If you do choose to arrive this way please let us know in advance as the station is just a halt with no staff, telephone or taxis.
