You are here: Home > Things to Do > Bushcraft Brunch - An introduction to Wilderness Cooking with Green Man Survival
Join us at our secluded woodland camp on the shores of Windermere for a bushcraft brunch to die for, this is thriving not just surviving!!
Our day will start with a quick introduction to foraging and we will do our best to supplement our meal with some of nature’s woodland treats.
Next we will cover the crucial skill of water sourcing and purification, this is super important as we need tea!
With our basics sourced we will now cover the key skill of fire lighting using sparks and natural tinder. Putting your new skills to use, we’ll need to get cracking collecting firewood and lighting the camp fire: time to prioritise and get the kettle on for a brew and start cooking!
We will provide a great selection of options, from bacon, cheese and tomato stuffed bannock, chocolate twisties, sausage and egg sarnies and if you’re really good a toasted marshmallow or two! You will get a chance to do all the baking and cooking and learn loads of great new camp skills.
Camp hygiene is just a fancy term for washing up right?! Well maybe, but it is very important to understand the importance of keeping our woodland base camp squeaky clean with simple kit that we can carry with us into the woods, along with some of nature’s sneaky resources – we will let you in on some tips and tricks to making use of what’s around us.
Heading back to civilization is far from our favourite thing to do but with full stomachs and a head full of new skills it’s time to make our way back to the world.
Learning points for the day include:
