About

Welcome to England's only true mountain forest. Whinlatter boasts unrivalled views across Bassenthwaite Lake, Derwentwater and Keswick. Located in the North West of the Lake District, you'll find us in the heart of it. It plays host to two of our high ropes’ activities, built in 2022, as well as our all-terrain Forest Segway experience. The latter includes dramatic views across this unique landscape. If you're looking for an action-packed day out in Cumbria, Whinlatter comes 'highly' recommended. With fantastic walks, exhilarating mountain biking, rare wildlife and adventure play to boot. Whether you are a thrill seeker looking for action-packed fun or simply after some quality time with friends and family, we have adventure covered.

Treetop Adventure –

An action-packed one-hour introduction to high ropes life. Go Ape Treetop Adventure is a jam-packed hour of intricate crossings, wobbly bridges and a zip wire finale - guaranteed to evoke screams and laughter.  Whether you’re swinging by their side in the trees or cheering them on from below, you’ll be amazed at how much taller little monkeys walk after conquering the course. Our Tree Top Adventure courses are designed with the younger family in mind. A high ropes experience for those over a metre tall.

Treetop Adventure Plus –

A step up from Treetop Adventure – this high ropes experience will introduce you to a series of more challenging obstacles, higher platforms and longer zips. You’ll absorb all the fun of Treetop Adventure and then some. It’s for those craving more – more freedom. More height. More thrill. Rise to it and feel totally exhilarated. It's a feeling you'll want to experience again and again. A high ropes activity designed for families with older children in mind. This one hits the feel-good factor every time.

Forest Segway –
Ride, roam and explore this enchanting Cumbrian Forest. Whether you’re whizzing through purpose-built tracks or drinking in spectacular scenery – our all-terrain Segways are a brilliant way to discover more of the forest than ever before. This hour-long experience on a self-balancing electric Segway is a totally unique way to tackle the trails. Oh. And you’ll need to be over 7 stone to participate. Heads up!
