The flights from our airstrip are awesome and unforgettable. Within minutes we are flying through the incredibly beautiful valleys and around and sometimes over the mountains of the Lake District.We fly in modern, state of the art twin seat Gyrocopters and there's an extra thrill because they're open cockpit.You will be amazed how safe a secure you feel, once we are airborne.They are incredibly stable and smooth, and very safe!

Our Gyrocopters have dual controls, so after an informal 'ground briefing', you will be invited, once airborne, of taking control of the Gyrocopter for yourself, or just simply sit back and enjoy the view, the choice is yours! Bring your camera.

Helmets, flying suits and gloves are supplied. You will be flying with one of the most experienced Gyrocopter Pilot/Instructors in the UK.

The Bothy, Troutbeck, Northern Lake District

Self-Catering Lake District Bothy, sleeps 2 adults and set in an amazing landscape with no light pollution. Perfect for those wishing to experience Dark Skies and when conditions allow, a stunning Star Gazing experience.

This is back to basics, no frills no fuss accommodation but yet has everything you will need.

The Bothy has an inviting log burning stove set in the centre of the single room accommodation, as we have no electricity light is by candle light which just enhances the ambiance of the building.  Water is sourced by our water butts and cooking is by our gaz camping stoves. Seating is a rustic ratten cane sofa and chairs and the dining area has a large wooden kitchen table with bench seats.  There is a double bed frame with a blow-up mattress or 2 single mattresses if requested, but please bring your own sleeping bags/bedding.  Outside in a separate building is a compost toilet and a hot water shower is available by request in our nearby barn/shed.

The Bothy is set in 160 acres of our land which you will be free to roam. There’s a stream on the edge of our land and a newly developed pond. Sheep do graze our land. At dusk, you could quite easily see a Heron, Owl, Deer or even Fox. There are buzzards nesting in the neighbouring wood. It is a magical place, surrounded by hills and mountains with hardly another building in sight.
