You are here: Home > Things to Do > LYTHLEY at Lake District Lavender
For a few short weeks each summer, our slopes in the Lyth Valley turn purple. The scent hangs on the warm air, the rows hum with bees, we’ve counted five species on a single plant, and the fells rise behind it all. Lavender re imagined with a Lakeland skyline!
Wander the rows. Stop at the field café for good coffee and lavender cake. Harvest your own lavender bunch. Spread a picnic beneath ancient damson trees. Book a distillation course in the Still Room, where we distil our lavender in copper, right where it grows. Take home oils, candles and soap carefully crafted and handmade made from this one field.
Lythley is small on purpose. Every visit is booked in advance, so the field always feels like yours.
Each May, we release our programme of curated summer events: sunset picnics, wreath-making, field yoga and art, distillation courses and more. Places are limited, and they go quickly.
Make a day of it, five minutes down the lane. Or stay the night in our 1680 farmhouse and have the field to yourself at sunrise.
LYTHLEY. Where the lavender meets the fells, with lakes and lavender in one day.
