About

SELF-GUIDED WALKING HOLIDAYS AND GUIDED WALKS IN THE LAKE DISTRICT

Whether you’re looking for a self-guided walking holiday, a private guided walk, or to join a small group ‘social walk’, Muddy Boots will help you get the most out of your trip to the Lake District!

Self-guided walking holidays

We have used our expert local knowledge to design unique routes, which let you experience famous highlights of the Lake District as well as discovering our favourite secret spots. Soak up the views as you picnic on a breezy hilltop or the bank of a crystal-clear river. Stop in a cosy country pub or friendly cafe to sample delicious local produce. Spend your nights in welcoming inns in stunning locations, with good food to sustain you on your journey!

We will take all the hassle out of your trip by arranging accommodation, transport and luggage transfer. All you have to do is turn up and enjoy the stunning surroundings!

OUR WALKING HOLIDAYS INCLUDE:

• Detailed walking route instructions
• Accommodation in fantastic inns and hotels in stunning locations
• Luggage transfer between your accommodation so you don’t have to carry your bags
• A route-marked OS map
• The ‘Muddy Boots Walkers’ Survival Pack’ including our guide to places to visit and eat and drink on your route
• A transfer back to your first accommodation to collect your car or to and from train stations, where required (additional charges may apply)

Have a look at our website for full details of all our routes.

Private Guided Walks

We can help you get the most out of your trip to the Lakes with a private guided walk tailored to your requirements.

Whether it’s your first time in the area, you’re looking to get off the beaten track, are new to hiking, or simply want to learn a bit more about the area, we can plan a guided walk to suit you.

All our guided walks are led by Muddy Boots’ co-founder, Matt, a qualified hiking guide, who can plan the route to fit in with your interests and your requirements for distance, difficulty and location.

See our website for full details about how our guided walks work and get in touch to plan a great day out in the Lakes!

Muddy Boots Social Walks

Our ‘Muddy Boots Social Walks’ are small group guided walks that give you the chance to explore new areas, enjoy fresh air and stunning scenery, learn more about the Lake District and meet new people, all without needing to read a map or follow instructions!

Your walk leader, Matt, will organise the route (and make sure you don’t get lost!), as well being on hand to answer any questions about the landscape, geology, flora and fauna of the area, so all you need to do is turn up and enjoy the walk!

Details, dates and online booking for each of our walks is on our website.
