Based around Vivaldi's four seasons, the Lantivet Duo and Joy Becker take you on a captivating journey.
Spanning 800 years of music we explore the passing of time and changing of the seasons, which give rise to feelings of joy and loss, celebration and mourning. Each half of the concert will be experienced as a continuous musical piece, allowing you to explore your own feelings and responses to the seasons, and to reflect on the cyclic nature of time.
We will weave music from Vivaldi's four seasons together with folk songs, traditional tunes and our own compositions. The first half begins in the summer party season with its lazy days and tempestuous storms. When the leaves start to change colour, we transition to autumn, bringing in the harvest as the nights draw in.
At the outset of the second half, you will be thrown into the cold depths of winter, getting cosy and warming your feet by the fire, before emerging into a hopeful and uplifting spring finale. Showcasing expressive vocals and virtuosic violin, viola, guitar, piano and trumpet playing, this concert will take you on an immersive and moving journey.
Uplifting, haunting, funny, beautiful, occasionally barnstorming, and unlike any Four Seasons you will have heard before!
