On the tour you'll take a close look at the exterior features of Townend, the unique 17th century home of the Browne family and get the rare chance to peer inside Townend barn, one of the few surviving examples of a Lakeland bank barn, on the adjacent working farm. You'll learn what clues to look for to 'de-code' other historic buildings when travelling around the Lake District.
