The Buttermere Swim Hike takes an exciting approach to wild swimming by combining one of our favourite swims, with one of our favourite lakeside walks. We've been swimming this route for over 10 years and yet it has never lost its appeal. How could you ever tire of the Buttermere Valley with its clear water and mountain backdrop?

The Buttermere Swim Hike is a really interesting adventure swim that we know will appeal to Swim the Lakes regulars as well as relative newcomers to outdoor swimming.

Start Time: 09:30 to finish by approximately 15:30. Meeting location, itinerary and parking information will be emailed to you upon booking.

Includes: Fully guided trip with qualified swim guides and support boat(s). Hot chocolate and cake.

For those new to the sport, we run popular Introduction to Open Water Swimming courses, as well as outdoor swim safety courses.
Our outdoor swimming shop in Ambleside is stocked with essential equipment and swimwear, and we offer a wetsuit fitting service to help you find the perfect fit.
