Escape to nature and take on a 10k, half marathon or full marathon at one of seven stunning locations across the UK.
Whether you're an experienced hiker or it's your first time, we're with you every step of the way. Ramble, amble or stride – solo or with a group – as you join a community that's powering progress for people affected by cancer.
Our routes are fully signposted and marshalled by our amazing volunteers, with support and snack points and a well-earned hot meal at the finish line. You'll also receive a pack with everything you need to fundraise for life-saving research. So, step out of the hustle and bustle and into the great outdoors. Because when you take big steps, we make big breakthroughs.

Directions from the North (M6)
**1. Leave the M6**
* Exit at **Junction 40 (Penrith / Keswick)**
**2. Join the A66 westbound**
* Follow signs for **Keswick (A66)**
* Continue for approx **15 miles**
**3. Turn onto the A592 towards Ullswater / Patterdale**
* At the roundabout near **Troutbeck**, take the **A592 towards Ullswater / Windermere**
**4. Follow A592 over Kirkstone Pass**
* Continue through:
* Glenridding
* Patterdale
* Then climb over **Kirkstone Pass** (steep, winding road ⚠️)
**5. Descend to Ambleside**
* Follow signs into **Ambleside**
**6. Join the A591 to Grasmere**
* At Ambleside, turn onto the **A591 northbound**
* Follow for approx **4 miles**
**7. Arrive at Grasmere Showground / Sports Field**
* Enter **Grasmere village**
* The Showground / Sports Field is just off the **A591** on the edge of the village
* Follow **event signage**

Directions from the South (M6)
**1. Leave the M6**
* Exit at **Junction 36 (Kendal / South Lakes)**
**2. Join the A591 (main Lake District route)**
* At the roundabout, take the **A590 towards Kendal**, then immediately merge onto the **A591 towards Windermere / Ambleside**
**3. Follow A591 north (main stretch)**
Stay on the A591 for approx **15–18 miles**, passing:
* Windermere
* Ambleside
⚠️ This is a busy tourist road—allow extra time in summer.
**4. Continue past Ambleside to Grasmere**
* Remain on the **A591 for ~4 miles** after Ambleside
* You'll enter **Grasmere village**
**5. Arriving at Grasmere Showground / Sports Field**
* Continue through the village centre
* The **Showground / Sports Field** is located just off the A591 on the edge of the village
* Look for:
* Event signage
Ambleside → Grasmere Showground
**1. Start in Ambleside (Kelsick Road Bus Stop)**
* Main departure point: **Kelsick Road (Ambleside centre)**
* Regular buses run north towards Grasmere
**2. Take any of the following buses towards Grasmere / Keswick:**
* **555** (Lancaster ↔ Keswick) – most frequent
* **599** (Bowness ↔ Grasmere) – very frequent shuttle-style service
⏱️ Buses run approximately **every 10–20 minutes** during the day
**3. Journey time**
* Approx **10–15 minutes**
**4. Get off in Grasmere**
* Recommended stops:
* **Grasmere Village (Broadgate / Heaton Cooper Studio stop)**
* Or **just past the village** if instructed by event signage
**5. Walk to Showground / Sports Field**
* Approx **5–10 minute walk**

Public Bus Directions: Keswick → Grasmere Showground
**1. Start in Keswick Bus Station**
* Main departure point: **Keswick Bus Station (central)**
* All services depart from here
**2. Take the Stagecoach 555 (Keswick → Lancaster)**
* Direction: **towards Grasmere / Ambleside / Windermere**
* This is the **main direct route**
⏱️ Runs approximately **every 30 minutes** (more frequent in peak season)
**3. Journey time**
* Approx **20–25 minutes**
**4. Get off in Grasmere**
* Recommended stop:
* **Grasmere (Broadgate / Village centre)**
