About

Starting at the Old Dungeon Gill in beautiful Langdale, this route climbs up to Crinkle Crags via Great Knott. The four Crinkles and crossed, including the Bad Step for those feeling brave. At Three Tarns the Bow Fell ascent is started to the 902m summit overlooking most of the district (on a clear day). Decent via the Band back to the Old Dungeon Gill, with an option to descend via the Great Slab and the Climbers' Traverse (weather dependant). A 14km route with 1240m of ascent, which should take between 6-7 hours. Two Wainwrights bagged.

What's included
Guided walk, with an experienced and qualified Mountain Leader. Local knowledge and enthusiasm on tap.

What to bring
Walking boots, waterproof jacket and trousers, a warmer jacket, food and snacks, at least 2L of water, hat, gloves, sun cream, a day sack big enough to carry your own kit, personal medical requirements, walking poles (optional), energy, enthusiasm and a good camera.

Meeting point
Old Dungeon Gill car park, Great Langdale. W3W - devotion.verve.onions
National Trust Car Park (fees apply).

Good to know
This is a challenging route, but not technical in nature. There is some rough ground. The ascent and descent is steep in places. The rewards are worth the effort. Some varied route options will be offered dependent on the weather.
