Festival of the Lake is coming to Windermere Jetty Museum on Saturday 27 June 2026 for a full day celebrating Windermere's heritage, its traditional boating culture and the many positive ways people continue to connect with England's largest lake.
Taking place on the shores of Windermere, this family-friendly festival brings together heritage boats, live music, hands-on activities, local food and on-the-water experiences inspired by the region's rich boating culture.
Visitors can enjoy a range of activities from craft activities celebrating wild Windermere, fascinating short talks by leading voices such as Paul Flint from the Arthur Ransome Society, sailing experiences aboard Swallow from the 2016 Swallows and Amazons film, lakeside sauna sessions with Tarn Saunas and live performances by musicians outside our cafe, all set across Windermere Jetty Museum's beautiful lakeshore site.
Whether you're looking to explore local heritage, spend time by the water or simply soak up the atmosphere, Festival of the Lake offers a relaxed and memorable day out for all ages in the heart of the Lake District.
More details and timings will be shared on our website as the event approaches.
Festival entry is £6 for adults, £3 for children (5–15 years), £4.50 for students and family tickets are available from £10. Lakeland Arts Members and Windermere Jetty Museum Annual Pass holders go free.
