Furness Youth Theatre presents a double bill of Ghost Town Halloween & Dracula
Ghost Town Halloween written by Brian Loveless, directed by Rhiannon Clark
Dracula written by Morgan Lloyd Malcolm, based on the novel by Bram Stoker, directed by Chris Loveless
Ghost Town Halloween is a musical comedy set in a deserted Yukon gold rush town. When three geologists find themselves lost after exploring an abandoned mine, they discover a ghostly community preparing for its annual Halloween variety show, hosted by the grumpy King Midas. As the story unfolds, they encounter ghosts, fairies and miners trapped by an ancient curse. With songs, comedy, and a touch of pantomime, the show explores themes of greed, freedom… and the search for gold!
In Dracula, Morgan Lloyd Malcolm uncovers the female voices at the heart of the tale: Awakened by the unimaginable horrors she's witnessed, Mina Harker demands your attention. You'd be wise to listen close. The only survivor of the tragic events chronicled in the famous letters, Mina is here to recount her version of Dracula's journey from Transylvania to London. Alongside trusted allies, and in memory of her beloved friend Lucy, they scramble to piece together the truth of his monstrous desires. But is their performance merely a warning – or does it have the power to conjure the dead?
