'It is true, we shall be monsters, cut off from all the world; but on that account we shall be more attached to one another.'
― Mary Shelley, Frankenstein, 1818
Join us in the Café for a writing workshop themed around Gothic monsters.
This relaxed creative writing workshop explores the monstrous characters and settings found in iconic Gothic works such as Frankenstein and Dracula, and considers the ways in which Gothic writers used monsters as a lens through which to examine human nature.
We will read a selection of excerpts from Gothic novels and poems together as a starting point for your own creative work. There will be a range of writing prompts and no previous experience is necessary.
