Our guided walks along Hadrian's Wall are delivered by our amazing volunteer guide, Pete Savin. Pete is a tour guide, photographer and regular volunteer excavator with the Vindolanda Trust.
Our guided walks start outside the museum at 11am and 1:30pm on:
Sunday 19th October
Monday 20th October
Tuesday 21st October
The tour will take you on a walk up to the Whin Sill getting stunning, panoramic views of Hadrian's Wall and beyond. Get up close to a standing section of Hadrian's Wall as Pete gives you insight into the Wall's features, it's landscape setting, Roman and native Briton usage, Turret 45a and signalling, and why our World Heritage Site is so fantastic!
These tours are across rugged and sometimes boggy terrain without paths. If you would like to attend please wear suitable clothing and footwear for walking through fields (long trousers and boots recommended).
This tour is recommended for older children (15+) and adults due to the terrain, any children must be supervised by an adult and behave responsibly.
