Moonrakers (www.moonrakers.net) are a four-piece folk band known for their sparkling, inventive arrangements of traditional British songs and tunes alongside powerful original compositions. Their rich, multi-instrumental sound weaves together Celtic harp, cello, fretted instruments, whistles and evocative female/male vocals.
Their live shows are warm, informative and full of musical variety, blending ancient mystic ballads, lyrical melodies and joyous chorus songs in performances suitable for all ages. Praised as "startlingly talented" (Oxford Times) with an "exquisite sound" (BBC), Moonrakers have earned a reputation for both musical excellence and engaging storytelling.
With a prolific recorded output described as "the real deal" (The Living Tradition) and "uplifting, sensitively crafted" (FATEA), their music has been featured on BBC Radio 4 and the BBC TV series Beyond Paradise, alongside numerous radio and podcast appearances.
The line-up features Becki Luff (Celtic harp), Jacqui Johnson (cello), Jon Bennett (bouzouki, guitar, whistles, bodhran, vocals) and Sarah Fell (vocals) — four accomplished musicians bringing depth, joy and originality to contemporary folk.
