Welcome to Poetry Club! A space for poets and creatives to share their Spoken Word work and explore featured poets from across the country. Born from our popular Verbalise events, Poetry Club offers a relaxing and inspiring evening. Sign up and take part, or sit back and enjoy!
Could you be the next Slambria Champion? Come and contend for this year's title!
Performers will have 3 minutes on the mic to impress the guest judges with their original words and engaging performances. Round 2 features the 6 performers with the highest scores from Round 1. Lastly, Round 3 will be the highest scoring from Round 2.
There are 7 spots available (on a first-come, first-served basis), so bring your friends to cheer you on. All work must be original and written on this year's National Poetry Day theme of Wonder.
Last year, Rema Grace Gifford won our inaugural Slambria Poetry Slam with a fantastic beat poem about a nightclubbing slug! Her prize was to come back as a featured poet, and she's not one to miss!
Entries must be submitted by 1 September to secure your spot. The overall winner will receive the slam trophy and a paid spot at Verbalise in 2027.
To take part and to book your open mic spot, please email Ann Grant at annthepoet@gmail.com
