This talk will be led by Lucy Saint-Smith, a library & museum professional who has worked for the Quakers in the UK for the past 8 years. She is currently the Collections Officer at Swarthmoor Hall, Ulveston, the 17th century home of Margaret Fell & a site widely regarded as the cradle of the Quaker movement.
Discover what it was like to grow up at the heart of a new religious movement? This talk will look at the life of former Hawkshead pupil William Caton and his place at the centre of Quakerism in the 17th century.
You will also have the opportunity to explore our museum exhibitions and historic library.
Drinks and snacks will be provided. It gets chilly in the museum so a coat is recommended.
