About

Steeped in history and surrounded by magnificent Lakeland views, this elegant country house epitomises style and hospitality of a bygone era. A private haven of peace and tranquillity at the western point of Lake Bassenthwaite in the beautiful English Lake District, surrounded by wooded valleys and the dramatic vista of Skiddaw Mountain as its backdrop.

The privately owned, four star 17th century former stately home, has 44 individually designed bedrooms, wood panelled public rooms, real log fire, Lake View restaurant, 2 conference rooms, licensed for civil ceremonies, snooker room, croquet lawn and tennis. Also on the estate is The Lake District Wildlife Park home to hundreds of rare and endangered species of animals, birds of prey and reptiles.

The Spa includes a 16 meter indoor infinity edge pool, wallow pool, thermal zone incorporating hydrotherapy pool with swan neck shower, sauna, steam room, aroma room, heat experience showers, pool and garden view fitness suite gymnasium with personal trainers on hand and indulgent outdoor hot tub surrounded by landscaped gardens.

Upstairs in The Spa are 10 treatment rooms including a double treatment room, a tranquillity room, manicure and pedicure area plus a private lounge all beautifully presented to create a luxurious environment for those enjoying the day and evening spa experiences.

Hotel stands in 400 acres of grounds with own lake frontage.
