About

Welcome to North View Bed & Breakfast, a stylish retreat nestled in the charming New Streets conservation area of Penrith with stunning views over the Lake District. Just a short walk from Beacon Park and the bustling town centre, our B&B offers a perfect blend of tranquillity and convenience. Enjoy Penrith’s unique shops, cosy pubs, trendy cafés, and cinema, all within easy reach.

North View B&B combines homely comfort with a touch of French elegance. As your French host, Christel brings a refined touch to her beautifully restored red sandstone Victorian home. She speaks English, French, and Spanish, ensuring a warm and welcoming experience to all guests.

Each bedroom features cosy beds, tea and coffee facilities, fresh towels, a hairdryer, and free WiFi. For Breakfast, Christel displays a substantial continental breakfast, a favourite among her guests. Indulge in her award-winning homemade marmalade, which proudly earned a silver award at the Dalemain World Marmalade Festival. Savor freshly baked croissants alongside the delightful homemade jams, granola, and yogurt, all crafted with care to ensure a delicious start to your morning. After a day of adventure or cultural exploration, find tranquillity in the garden or relax in the front room with a TV or a book. The warm, friendly atmosphere makes every guest feel truly at home, offering a unique and memorable experience.

Sustainability

We’re proud to run our B&B with sustainability in mind, not just for our guests, but also for the planet and our local community. From the breakfast table to the bathroom, we care about how we operate our business.

We shop locally whenever possible: milk comes fresh from the nearby farm, fruits from Eva’s Organics and we support small local shops for ingredients. Our cereals are homemade with organic oats, and we make our own yogurt and jams using fruit from our garden or organic produce sourced nearby.

You’ll also find thoughtful touches throughout your stay - no single-use items on the refreshment tray, eco-friendly toilet paper and tissues from Naked Sprout, green cleaning products and locally made Pure Lakes toiletries in the bathroom. Even our energy is supplied by a British renewable energy group, Octopus. We want to make your stay feel good in every sense.

Guided walks for guests

We also offer tailor-made guided walks and Nordic walking classes for guests who'd like to explore the stunning local landscape in a more active and mindful way. These are available by prior arrangement – email us and we can discuss what you'd enjoy the most. With Mountain Leader and Nordic Walking Instructor qualifications, you're in safe and experienced hands.
