About

Parkgate Farm currently offers 5 static caravans sleeping 4-6 and a holiday cottages (sleeps 6) netled at the foot of the Eskdale and Wasdale valleys.  In 2022 we are expanding to include 3 new large glamping pods (each sleeping 5) with kitchen and bathroom facilities, log burners and panoramic windows. We will also have 7 large camping pitches.

The location offers a perfect base for walking on the fells, along the coast or around the nearby valleys and woodlands.  The extensive network of bridleways from Parkgate also makes it perfect for mountain biking or horse riding without having to set foot on a road. We even have paddocks to accommodate your horses.

Next year’s development will include a full facilities block with showers, toilets, laundry and drying facilities as well as a wash-up area, lockable bike storage and washdown provision. An exciting children’s play area is also a work in progress and will be ready to enjoy in 2022. Already we have a flat play area for ball games.

We welcome families, dogs and groups wanting to enjoy nature, fresh air and dark skies.  There are sheep and cattle in the surrounding fields as well as our own very friendly donkeys (especially if you have a carrot) and as long as you close the gates you will be free to explore the fields and woodlands, build dens, have picnics and lie in the sun (or the snow!).
