About

Experience peace, tranquillity, and adventure on your next holiday at Parkgate Farm, located at the base of the picturesque Eskdale and Wasdale valleys. Whether you're a hiker, walker, or cyclist, our farm offers an extensive network of bridleways for exploring the surrounding fells, coast, valleys, and woodlands.

We have a full facilities block with showers, toilets, washing machine and tumble dryer. An exciting children’s play area is also a work in progress and will be ready to enjoy soon. Already we have a flat play area for ball games.

We welcome families, dogs and small groups wanting to enjoy nature, fresh air and dark skies.  There are sheep and cattle in the surrounding fields as well as our own very friendly donkeys (especially if you have a carrot) and as long as you close the gates you will be free to explore the fields and woodlands, build dens, have picnics and lie in the sun (or the snow!).

Holiday Caravans at Parkgate Farm

Discover the perfect holiday getaway in one of our five fully insulated and centrally heated holiday caravans, each with a private raised decked patio offering stunning views of the surrounding fells. Each caravan is of the same high standard but with subtle differences in layout and amenities.

• Whin Rigg (sleeps 6)
• Irton Pike & Latterbarrow (sleeps 4)
• Mecklin & Tinkler Craggs (sleeps 4)

Harter Cottage at Parkgate Farm

Experience the beauty of the Lake District Fells at Harter Cottage, a three-bedroom self-catering holiday cottage with panoramic views of the surrounding fells. Nestled within its own private garden beneath a beautiful eucalyptus tree, the cottage features a spacious living and dining room with patio doors opening onto the garden and terrace area, perfect for outdoor dining.

The cottage is fully equipped with a kitchen including oven, stove, fridge, microwave, dishwasher, and washing machine. Enjoy the added convenience of being dog-friendly, welcoming up to two well-behaved dogs by prior arrangement. Families are also welcome, with cot and high chair available upon request.

Parkgate Cabins

Experience luxury living in our bespoke holiday cabins, complete with a double bedroom, a triple bedroom, shower room, kitchen, dining and living area. The electric wood burner in the living area provides added comfort for those cooler evenings. Enjoy the stunning panoramic views of the surrounding fells from the raised elevation of the site.

Fully insulated and heated, plus an electric wood burner in the living area, ensuring a comfortable stay no matter the weather.

• Esk, Irt & Mite (each sleeps a family of 5 or a max. of 4 adults)
