Road Directions
From the M6 motorway, leave at Junction 40 (Penrith) and take the A66 westbound towards Keswick. At Threlkeld, turn onto the A591 and continue south towards Keswick, following the scenic route alongside the northern Lake District fells. Continue north on the A591 alongside the western shore of Bassenthwaite Lake. The Lake District Castle Inn Hotel is located just off the A591 in the village of Bassenthwaite, approximately 7 miles north of Keswick
Public Transport Directions
From Penrith Train Station, take the X4 or X5 Stagecoach bus towards Keswick and Workington. The journey travels through the heart of the Lake District along the scenic A591 route, passing Threlkeld and Keswick before continuing north alongside Bassenthwaite Lake. Alight at the stop for Castle Inn / Bassenthwaite, which drops you off right the the hotel doorstep. The journey takes approximately 1 hour 15 minutes, depending on connections and traffic. Taxi services are also available from Penrith Station for direct transfers to the hotel.
