The Castle Inn Tavern at the Lake District Castle Inn Hotel and Spa offers a warm and welcoming dining experience, combining hearty food, cosy surroundings and the relaxed atmosphere of a traditional country inn. Originally part of a coaching inn dating back to 1770, the Tavern retains its character and charm, making it the perfect place to unwind after a day exploring the Lake District.
With roaring fireplaces, comfortable seating and a friendly home-from-home feel, guests can settle in and enjoy everything from leisurely lunches to relaxed evening meals. The menu features a range of carefully prepared dishes inspired by comforting pub classics and local favourites, with generous portions and quality ingredients at the heart of every plate. Whether stopping by for a casual bite, a family meal or a quiet drink beside the fire, the Tavern offers a welcoming space for every occasion.
The relaxed atmosphere makes it equally popular with walkers returning from the fells, couples enjoying a Lake District escape and families looking for somewhere comfortable to dine together. During the colder months, the crackling fires and cosy interiors create the perfect retreat, while warmer days invite guests to enjoy the peaceful surroundings and nearby views of Bassenthwaite Lake.
Combining great food, traditional hospitality and inviting surroundings, the Castle Inn Tavern is more than just a place to eat, it’s a place to relax, recharge and enjoy the comforting charm of the northern Lake District.
