Available from November 2025!
The Old Farmhouse at Brackenthwaite Farm is the original dwelling onsite and it’s full of character and original features, and with two bedrooms having the flexibility to be a super-king or twin bed setup, this property makes a great choice for almost everyone’s needs.
Step back in time as you enter the property and note its thick, limestone walls and original ceiling beams. Through the porch and to the left is the living room that offers a mix of modern conveniences with times-past living. The large wall-mounted TV with Netflix included can entertain younger generations, while the bare stone wall and feature fireplace can create a soothing evening atmosphere for the adults when it’s time to wind down for the evening.
Brackenthwaite Farm sits just south of The Lake District at Morecambe Bay on the border between the Cumbria South Lakes and Lancashire. Set within ten acres of land but within easy reach of Silverdale, Arnside, and beyond, Brackenthwaite Farm offers the perfect mix of ‘escape to the country’ with plenty of places to visit, explore, and eat, plus things to do, appreciate, and enjoy.

Leave the M6 motorway at Jn.35 and take the third exit (right turn) onto A6070.
All visitors thereafter:
At the roundabout take the second exit to travel north along the A6 (sign posted Milnthorpe). At the next roundabout keep left to take the first exit (A6) then under the railway bridge. Continue along this road for approx. two miles until you pass the service station, which will be on your left. Take the next left approximately 100 meters after the garage signposted Arnside, Silverdale. The Lakeland Wildlife Oasis will be on your immediate left. Keep on this lane following the signs for ‘Brackenthwaite Holidays’. Finally, at the T-junction turn right onto Brackenthwaite Road.
Continue straight for a very short distance and Brackenthwaite Holidays will come into view on the right. Look out for the large banner on the side of the barn and our flagpole.
You can also find us via Google Maps. Please note that sometimes the map places our marker on the opposite side of the road. If you follow our directions, Brackenthwaite Farm will be on your right. Look out for the flagpole!
If you get stuck en route, feel free to call us on 015395 63276.
Parking (unless travelling with horses):
Please use the third entrance with the wooden gate (signposted ‘The Dairy’). The Old Farmhouse is immediately on your right as you enter the gate, and you can park directly in front or to the side of your property but please do not block the access to the gate because this is shared with visitors staying at The Dairy.
The key safe code is: 1-9-7-5.
Your property will be available for you by 3pm.
Parking (when travelling with horses):
Take the first turning right onto our property grounds (before Keeper’s Lodge) at the flagpole.
Follow the track to the gate by the hen house. If the gate is padlocked, the code to unlock it is 1-0-6-6.
Once through the gate you will find plenty of space to park up and safely let out your horse/s. The paddocks for a quick turnout will be on your right and to the front of The Bull Pen (workshop unit) where you have stopped your vehicle.
If you would please provide us with an estimated time of arrival (and updated as necessary) one of us will be looking out for you and on-hand to assist in person.
Arrival with horses if available from midday, but please note that your property may not be available until 3pm.
Likewise, please vacate your property by 10am on the day of leaving and the paddocks by 11am.
Many thanks. See you soon!
