Our beautiful Victorian House is full of character offering a tranquil riverside garden, cosy individual rooms and a delicious home cooked breakfast.At Victorian House all of our rooms are individually designed to showcase the beauty of the surrounding landscape and the quirks of our period building. There is a character filled space for every occasion. Don't forget to view our gorgeous Shepherds Hut nestled at the bottom of our garden, complete with fire pit and private riverside views!

The Garden Room

The Garden Room provides a laid-back and quiet space to entertain and relax. With beautiful unique furnishings and an equally intriguing food and drink menu. 'Our traditional Full English breakfast is the perfect way to start your day. Freshly prepared each morning by our team we are proud to showcase the best of British produce making your breakfast experience with us one to remember. Locally sourced our Full English breakfast will set you up for a day of adventure!

Panoramic Stargazer Rooms

With stunning views onto the fells, our Stargazer Rooms with their huge windows are ideal for enjoying the night skies. The elegant rooms have handpicked furnishings and with the well fitted bathrooms and luxurious toiletries, they provide a wonderful romantic retreat for couples.

Each of our special Stargazer rooms comes with a high quality telescope or binoculars as well as a guide to the skyscape, and what you can expect to see through the seasons. Imagine wrapping up warmly and setting out the few hundred metres to Allan Bank, one of the best Orion night sky viewing points in Cumbria, armed with your Stargazing Pack.....a simple map, waterproof rug and cosy blanket, night sky map and guide, and a red torch.

Back at the Victorian House Hotel, snuggle down for a wonderful sleep on your super comfortable mattress, in the beautiful individually decorated rooms, waking to in-room quality coffee machines, and a scrumptious breakfast of local produce, lovingly prepared by the warm and welcoming staff!
