From south leave M6 jct 36 take first exit A591 Kendal/South Lakes. Continue for 8 miles, straight over large roundabout A591 Windermere/Ambleside. As you reach Ambleside set of traffic lights and the Waterhead Hotel is directly in front. Bear left at traffic lights and first right after pedestrian crossing into main hotel car park. From north, leave M6 jct 40 and follow A66 to Keswick, as you near Keswick take A591 to Windermere. Go through Ambleside, keep in left lane, past Hayes Garden Centre on right. As you approach traffic lights, Waterhead Hotel is on the right.
