Outdoor Mobility - Tramper hire in Whinlatter Forest. 2 Trampers are available for hire at this location. 4 accessible parking spaces and accessible toilets at the visitor centre.

Explore the woodland and take in the dramatic scenery overlooking Bassenthwaite and Skiddaw in England’s highest mountain forest.

​Two Trampers are available daily at the visitor centre from 10:30am onwards for 4 hours.

​The Trampers at Whinlatter follow the Wow trail which is approximately 4.5 miles. Once out on the trail there is an option to follow a shorter route which s just under 3 miles. Discover the wonders of Whinlatter on this walk, taking in Whinlatter’s most breathtaking views. Along the way you’ll find out why the forest is here, its history and how it is cared for to support wildlife and people today. You’ll enjoy opportunities for wildlife spotting and forest bathing.

Members must be accompanied on the route by another person during the Tramper hire session, due to limited or no mobile signal.

All Tramper users must stay on the designated Tramper route path. 

In order to book a Tramper with us, you need to become a member of Outdoor Mobility. This is done on the Outdoor Mobility Website and the Trampers at all locations can be booked from there. If the person booking has never used a Tramper before training will be given at the site.
