About

Michelin Star, cosy gourmet getaway nestled in Whinlatter Forest, serving delicious food using the finest ingredients from Cumbria and further afield.

The kitchen is led by Chef Director Ben Wilkinson who delights in bringing the tastes of the local terroir to the table, with seasonally foraged elements and through working closely with artisan suppliers and farmers.
The ideal place to enjoy an epicurean experience and feel the benefits of being surrounded by the great outdoors, with mountain views to Skiddaw and regular visits to the garden from red squirrels and native wildlife. With nine contemporary rooms offering woodland or garden views, it’s a haven of tranquillity and relaxation.

‘Top quality ingredients and classic techniques take the lead…there is a certain sophistication to the well-balanced flavour pairings.’

‘You leave feeling that they really do care about every little detail here.’
Michelin Guide 2020
