Whether you are looking to learn new skills, progress on to a degree or thinking of a career change, Furness College in the heart of Barrow has it all. Here, excellent teaching and support, world-class facilities and outstanding links with our many employer partners come as standard. We offer the largest choice of courses in Cumbria ranging from professional and technical courses, such as CTECs, BTECs and apprenticeships, through to a range of more than 20 A Level subjects, T Levels and higher education courses.
At the £47million Channelside campus we offer apprenticeships in 20 sectors, from accounting to applied science, business to beauty and barbering, construction to customer services and management to motor vehicle. There are also apprenticeships in early years education, engineering, hairdressing, health and social care, information technology, retail and team leading.
Our T Level offer includes Health, Education, Digital Technologies and Engineering. T Levels are technical courses equivalent to three A Levels, which include a substantial industry placement, helping to bridge the higher-level skills gap across Cumbria.
Our Sixth Form campus offers a unique opportunity for students to study a blended learning programme of A Levels and vocational courses. Choose from over 20 courses to create a programme that meets your needs and aspirations. If you have the ambition, we have the combination.
There has been significant investment across both of our fantastic campuses at Channelside and The Sixth Form. You will find industry standard workshops and quality learning environments that match our excellent teaching.
Our full-time courses start in September each year, with applications being accepted from November.
We offer many part-time and short evening courses, with start dates throughout the year.
Please visit our website for information on course offers, start dates and fees.
