The Furness Peninsula is steeped in heritage and culture. A must visit is Barrow’s Dock Museum. Telling the story of how the region rose to play a significant role in the industrial and defence future of Britain, the museum is also home to a wealth of local artefacts.
Meanwhile, nearby Furness Abbey is a fine example of Britain’s monastic past. The ruins are one of the most impressive in the UK with the on-site visitor centre housing centuries of historical artefacts.
For a memorable night out The Forum is the place to be, where from 2024, the venue has signed a three-year deal with the Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra to bring spectacular performances to the town.
