Located to the south of Grasmere and to the west of Lake Windermere, Elterwater boasts fantastic views of the nearby Langdale Pikes in the heart of the Lake District. A recommended approach to the lake for walkers is through the forests that surround the western side, which leads downstream to Skelwith Force.
