About

Set in 360 acres of mature woodland and rolling pasture at the head of Windermere, our stunning location is the perfect base for you to celebrate your special day with friends and family. By hiring us as a wedding venue you will also be giving back to the children and young people that our charity supports.

The front lawn is available to hire with a Marquee or Tipis. Our lawn overlooks Lake Windermere and is a great space to celebrate with your loved ones

Rooms available for hire in the Main Hall are also a perfect setting for a wedding breakfast

B&B en-suite accommodation and self-catering accommodation available

Catering provided – a choice of catering options are available, including buffets, BBQs, 2-3 course sit-down meals for the wedding breakfast - and not forgetting a tasty cooked breakfast!

Supplier’s list – We can provide you with recommendations for the wedding cake, personalised dining sets, photographers, florists, selfie booth, DJs, stationary makers and more

Brathay Church is closely located to Brathay Hall for those wanting a traditional church wedding in the heart of the Lake District

No wedding celebration or event is the same at Brathay Hall - we can help you to make your big day extra-special. Dates are currently available in 2021 and 2022. Get in touch with us on 015394 39729 to find out more.

      Public Transport Directions

By Rail: Windermere is the closest train station to our accommodation. It is located on a branch line from the main west coast line, with most connections changing at Oxenholme Lake District.

By Coach or Bus: Ambleside is on a national coach route and is served throughout the year by several bus routes. Buses 555, 505 and 599 all run from Windermere Rail Station to Ambleside.  Ambleside is roughly a mile away from Brathay and it is an easy walk along the A593 and B5286.
