Join us for a special evening of music, film and spoken word as we come together to mark Armistice Day and remember those who served and sacrificed during times of conflict.
Featuring Burneside Brass, strings, ensemble musicians and spoken word, the programme brings together music from the First and Second World Wars, including Nimrod, The 1914 March, Wiegala, music from The 49th Parallel, and a selection of much-loved wartime songs.
The evening will also include a screening of rare 40-minute colour film made in Britain during 1940–41 by American filmmakers Fred Vose and Joseph Sailor. Offering a fascinating glimpse of wartime Britain, the footage includes London, RAF stations, aircraft and everyday life during the Second World War. The film has now become part of the RAF Museum's film archive.
The programme will culminate in a moving Act of Remembrance, featuring the Exhortation, a two-minute silence, Reveille, the Kohima Epitaph and Benedictus, and will conclude with the stirring Dambusters March.
An evening of music, memories and reflection — honouring the past and bringing our community together in remembrance.
