We are delighted to welcome back Joost van Beek on Wednesday 25 March as our next Organ Recital organised as part of the Free Live Music Series at Carlisle Cathedral.

While entry to our concerts is complimentary, we encourage contributions during the collection at the end of each performance to support both the talented artist and the Cathedral. About the artist:

Joost van Beek (*1978) has a broad musical interest, with a preference for lesser known repertoire and contrasting programs.

Joost studied organ with Cor Ardesch and Ko Zwanenburg. He took master classes with Leo van Doeselaar, Marcel Verheggen and Erwin Wiersinga. He won prizes at various competitions.

Besides the Netherlands, Joost gave concerts in Belgium, Germany, England and Denmark. As a church musician he works in the Utrecht region. As a substitute he also plays services in, among others, the Laurenskerk in Rotterdam, the Nicolaïkerk in Utrecht and the Hooglandse Kerk in Leiden.

In addition to his musical activities, Joost works as a freelance copywriter and editor, with clients mainly from the music sector. Since January 2022, he has been editor-in-chief of the Dutch organ magazine 'De Orgelvriend'.
