You are here: Home > Things to Do > West Walls Brewing Co
West Walls Brewing Co. is Carlisle's original taproom-led brewery. Situated on the city's historic West Walls, in the former home of the legendary Twisted Wheel nightclub — a building with real heritage, exposed brick, and a lots of soul.
We brew, package and serve our beer all in the same room. That means the pint in your hand has travelled about ten feet from the tank it was brewed in. You won't find it fresher anywhere else in the city.
The taproom is open Thursday through Sunday. You'll find our core range on tap — pale ales, IPAs, lagers and seasonal specials — alongside a carefully chosen selection of guest beers, wines, and soft drinks for the non-drinkers. Everything is brewed with the best ingredients, by local people who genuinely care about what they're putting in the glass. We also serve pizza by the slice, hand made each day.
We're not just a place to grab a pint. We're a community space. We run regular events — live music, beer events, run clubs, Cask Club Sundays, and Locals Thursdays. Carlisle has had a proper brewing history for centuries. We're proud to be part of its next chapter. Whether you're a local, visiting the Lake District, passing through on the West Coast Main Line, or just curious about what's going on behind the city walls, we'd love to have you in.
