A chance to see Hunslett Howard 

A guest loco visiting courtesy of Statfold Barn Railway. This is the first time Howard, has been operated away from Statfold, so don’t miss your chance to see this big loco in action here in the North Pennines.

Ogwen and Cegin

Local steam locos, Ogwen and Cegin, used to construct Burnhope reservoir in Weardale in the 1930’s will be joining us too.

Footplate rides

While passenger trains are out there will be opportunities for footplate rides around our sidings.

2 day individual passes are available from the ticket office on the day of travel, or email enquiries@south-tynedale-railway.org.uk to book in advance.

The Crossing café at Alston will be open 10am – 3pm.
The Jersey Ice cream parlour and Buffet car at Slaggyford will be open 10am – 4pm
